1. Losing Count of the Circuits

It can be easy to lose track of the number of circuits, especially when the Haram is crowded. If you are uncertain about the number, you should base your count on the lower number you are certain of. To avoid confusion, you can use a simple way to keep track without becoming overly distracted from your worship.

2. Passing Through Hijr Ismail

One common mistake is passing through Hijr Ismail during Tawaf, thinking that this completes the circuit around the Kaaba. The correct way is to perform Tawaf around Hijr Ismail, keeping it within the area enclosed by the Tawaf route.

3. Not Being Certain Where Tawaf Begins

Tawaf begins in line with the Black Stone and consists of seven complete circuits. It is not necessary to reach or touch the Black Stone. If reaching it is difficult, pointing toward it is sufficient.

4. Believing That Each Circuit Has a Specific Supplication

There is no specific supplication that must be recited during each circuit. You may make whatever supplications you wish. Among the supplications reported between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone is:

Second: Common Mistakes During Sa’i

Sa’i between Safa and Marwah consists of seven circuits. It begins at Safa and ends at Marwah. Walking from Safa to Marwah counts as one circuit, and returning from Marwah to Safa counts as the second.

1. Starting Sa’i from Marwah

One of the most common mistakes is confusing the starting and ending points. Sa’i should begin at Safa and end at Marwah. It is therefore helpful to make sure you are at the correct starting point, especially if this is your first Umrah.

2. Losing Count of the Circuits

Fatigue and crowds can make it difficult to remember how many circuits you have completed. Paying attention to each movement between Safa and Marwah can help you keep an accurate count.

3. Thinking You Must Climb to the Top of Safa and Marwah

There is no need to climb to the highest points of Safa and Marwah. It is sufficient to reach the designated area and begin Sa’i from Safa toward Marwah.

4. Women Running Between the Green Markers

Running between the two green markers is a Sunnah for men. Women are not required to do this and should walk normally throughout Sa’i.

5. Stopping or Becoming Distracted During Sa’i

A pilgrim may take a break if they become tired and need to rest. However, it is preferable to avoid unnecessary interruptions and remain focused on Sa’i, remembrance, and supplication as much as possible.
